Founding Principal of Miller Legg, Bob Legg, served as a member of the McFatter School Advisory Council for over twenty years. His passion for McFatter and its students was demonstrated in his commitment to the Council and his championing “real world” learning where students participated with Miller Legg staff on job sites and in the office. Over the years, Bob mentored many McFatter students and provided countless opportunities to learn about surveying, drafting, civil engineering and related careers. Bob also led the statewide “Send Your Sales Tax to Schools” initiative and spearheaded the legislative process to change state law so that local school districts could partner with the business community to secure school technology funding. In 2006, Governor Jeb Bush signed this Bill into law.
In recognition of Bob’s commitment to public education and his dedication to McFatter, the Robert P. Legg Industrial Building was dedicated in his honor on June 8, 2018 on the McFatter campus in Davie.
