City of Miami Fairlawn Community Park
Under our Continuing Services Contract with the City of Miami, Miller Legg was awarded the development of programming, pre-design/concept, design, construction document preparation and construction phase services for a new Community Park on SW 63rd Avenue. The scope included planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, certified arborist, surveying and SUE, structural, electrical and geotechnical engineering as well as permitting, opinion of probable cost and limited construction administration. Permitting was coordinated with the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County DERM, WASD and SFWMD. Survey services included boundary and topographic and tree inventory.
The passive Park contains a shaded/fenced children’s playground, dog run, shared pedestrian / bicyclist perimeter path, light bollards, benches, pedestrian pole lighting, irrigation, water fountain, bike racks, receptacles, hardscape furniture, access driveway and perimeter privacy walls. Miller Legg assisted the City with the presentation of conceptual designs at Community Meetings to gather public input for a final design.
Related Projects
The City of Miami Morningside Park created an expanded and improved tennis facility at this 42-acre Park. The project included improvements to an existing seven (7) courts that had experienced degradation due to drainage and soil stabilization issues. A new court layout was developed to increase the facility to eight (8) lighted courts and a warm-up training wall amenity. Other tennis improvements included upgraded lighting, fencing ad shaded bench area.
